    3/12/21 - Flower 2pts

    Earth laughs in flowers!
Today saw holdover blooms from last year:
    Phlox
    Camelia
    Pansy
    Hellebore

    And new blooms for 2021:
    Snowdrop
    Crocus
    Daffodil
    Dwarf iris
    Hyacinth
    Dandelion
    Purple deadnettle
    Periwinkle vinca
    Creeping blue
    Witch hazel
    Forsythia
    Mahonia
    Cherry blossoms

In the spirit of freezing saddles, I'll submit here a winter bloomer called 'Gold Finch' Paperbush (Edgeworthia chrysantha)

I hadn't noticed it before and needed to walk my bike through the Franciscan Monastery gate to get a close-up.
It was amazingly fragrant, even from a distance and through a mask!

Since I had heard that Drevil wasn't aware that there were so many flowers in bloom right now, it amused me to go out and capture a photo of one of the smaller varieties currently in bloom. Purple dead nettle is commonly known as a "weed," but is both edible and an important flower to pollinators because it blooms throughout a good portion of the year. Earlier in 2020, I added it to a few sandwiches and salads because we were trying to cut down on our visits to the grocery store during the pandemic. So I think it's a rather cool plant, and am happy that it has covered a lot of my yard. (But these are not located in my yard - just off the trail about a mile away from home.)

    3/12/21 - Flower

I was going to share a daffodil bunch until I saw so many thousands posted here. I've been riding too urban lately I guess, since I haven't seen them blooming yet; mainly just crocus.
Instead, here are a couple pots bursting with blooms.

I spent the whole "faces" search with the earworm of:

    When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
    When you're strange
    No one remembers your name
    When you're strange
    When you're strange
    When you're strange
