Do you really think for a second that anyone on this forum would have ridden by you without apologizing had they clipped your bars?!?

Uh, someone did just that obviously.

your multiple sexist posts on the forum

Where?

Does it male you feel good to continue to pile on? There has been enough said about the video. Some agree with me, some with you. Many of us have different personalities and were brought up in different areas and eras. I grew up in North Jersey in the 60’s and 70’s. If you want to use that as fuel to continue to pile on, go ahead. But it will also show that I probably have a different set of values and will deal with situations differently than some, but the same as some. It seems that most “roadies” think I did bad. And it seems most recreational riders feel the same way I do. We are tired of no call and too close passes.

I am done with this thread. Too many of you are putting words in my mouth and accusing me of doing unspeakable things. But the bottom line is that the group made two very unsafe passes. You can scream at me all you want for what I said to her, that she apologize, heaven forbid. But the group almost injured someone. I did not.

If you pass me and hit me, expect me to get in your space if you act like I was in your way. I have just as much of a right to do laps at Haines Point as you. It is a public park.

I am disabling the video due to riders who want to make it about me. Go ahead and judge me some more and call me a bad person. But don’t forget to look in the mirror. I think people saw their own riding behavior in that video and want to make it all about me instead of the what the video showed. Very dangerous behavior.

Comical PC. Now you are making stuff up. I sent the same message I posted to you publicly here. Like I said. You are a bit sensitive. And dasgeh, you have some gender issues. You have made every post about gender. It’s not about gender but a rude rider who didn’t apologize.

That’s what I have a problem with, the idea that uncontrolled rage is the appropriate response.

I you think that is uncontrolled rage then you have to be the most sensitive person I have encountered. Did I threaten anyone? Did I cut off anyone? Uncontrolled rage is when someone goes postal or assaults someone. Grow up and grow some nads Mr Sensitive. And don’t cry when I call you out when you hit me. Just apologize.

I almost wish I never posted this thread. Some truly bizarre responses and some reasonable ones. The bottom line is that someone hit me on my handlebars (no, not bumped me like someone who changed my words). It was shocking and as I said before because of the angle of the video you really cannot tell how severe it was. But it was bad and I very easily could have gone down. That person did not say anything to me and rode off. I did not ride dangerously to catch up to the person, you were not there. I didn’t cut anyone off, I just wanted the person to at least apologize. The rider did not gesture or apologize as they said in the video. If they did, they didn’t do it to me. If it was a man I would have done the same. It’s so ridiculous to suggest the I am being sexist, or doing so because she was a woman. Someone said I didn’t stop at the stop sign either. Would you if you had a bunch of riders swarming you. That was the same group that hit me. I really didn’t have a lot of confidence in their ability to pass me safely. There are some really good posters on this board. But there seem to be some who probably saw their own behavior in the video and wanted to justify it.

You missed the whole point of what I wrote. I should not have to adapt to their riding behavior, they should behave in a responsible manner. Haines Point is not a sanctioned race course. Are you going to tell a 12 year old that he is responsible for his front wheel when he is learning to ride and he is bumped? There used to be a very elderly gentleman who did laps there very slowly, but he was out there everyday for quite a while. I would hate to see him get bumped or cut off on a turn because the “elite” riders had to cut a second off their best lap time.

I use the Garmin Virb http://sites.garmin.com/virb/ If you view the map with Garmin’s software there is even more data that can be displayed such as a better map, heart rate and cadence.

She didn’t just bump me, she passed way to close (as well as many of the other riders) and she hit my handlebars which can’t be seen from the video because of the angle. I came close to going down and she didn’t even acknowledge that she did anything. I really do not appreciate you inferring that I threatened her. You can hear the audio. I just wanted an acknowledgment and apology. If you blow that kind of stuff off than more power to you.

A few laps latter the group made a very dangerous pass at the second gate at Ohio and Buckeye Dr. They didn’t slow down for the turn or stop sign and passed me with no regard. I could have gone straight at the gate and it would have taken many of them out. I was forced to turn right or get run over. Here is that video:

I am not a perfect cyclist. I do Idaho stops but I value my safety and others. These cyclists treat Haines Point like their personal velodrome. If I was in a race with them I would understand, but I am on a 30 LB commuter bike loaded down with panniers just out to get some exercise on the way home. I bet a few in that lunchtime group read this board. Please change your behavior and respect others. It’s not your park to do as you wish.

Sorry to hear that you were on a motorcycle. ;)

But how does someone not know to yeild to traffic on the circle, that’s about the only unique rule to traffic circles.

That is exactly what I tried to convey to the guy who ran into me. He was more worried about that he was right and the Cop and I were wrong. When his insurance company contacted me they couldn’t have been nicer. They probably had to listen to him rant on about how it was not his fault and the insurance company knew he was wrong and didn’t want me to sue. I didn’t.

I had a car slam into me in the traffic circle near the Sequoia office building in Penrose on my motorcycle. I was in the traffic circle halfway around when the car entered and slammed into me. The guy got out of his car and started yelling at me that I had to yield to him, I started to tell him the law which made him madder. Then I saw a policeman and I flagged him down and he asked us what happened and the guy that hit me said that I was in the circle and I should have yielded to him. The cop started writing him a ticket for fail to yield and the guy went ballistic. This guy was convinced that traffic in the circle should yield to traffic entering the circle. He also could give a s#it about the damage he had done to me and my bike.

Maine Ave. is a mess. There is some good info in this thread: http://bikearlingtonforum.com/showthread.php?6650-Southwest-Waterfront-redevelopment-Water-St-to-be-closed&highlight=waterfront The bike valet is great. I have left my bike after work with the panniers attached and all of my stuff was un-molested. Have fun!

I was on the ride too. The ride was great except for Friday. Pouring rain and 25 mile an hour headwinds kind of sucked.

You are not alone. No results for my bib number or name either. The MyLaps transponder matches the bib number too. Strange. Good thing I’ve got a Strava record of the event, but it would have been nice to see where I landed on the non-leader list.
Just for grins I’m emailing the AFA CC crew. PM your bib number and I’ll add that to my list. Same for anyone else who had the cloak of invisibility on Sunday.

Bib 1052. I have a garmin 500 and use strava also, but it only measures a few people instead all 2000 that participated. Thanks.

I guess I came in last place. There are no results for my bib number or name even though I did six laps. I guess they gave me a defective lap sensor.
