Terpfan, can you do any of the bridges? We’re busy trying to assign each member of Sloppy Seconds to one. (The discussion is on the team’s Strava page.)

I would cross at it, but only if I knew a friend was driving behind me. Also, wouldn’t this route give someone credit for two bridges if they just keep going up to that Shenandoah Bridge?
With all that said, I was up there two weeks ago to see family so I probably won’t be back up to nab all the bridges there for my team.
cvcalhounParticipantOn a more serious note (probably in conflict with the idea of trash talk), I suspect that some teams aren’t making the handicap because they don’t have all of their members being recorded. It took me quite a while first to find the Team 2 members (including finding one, who isn’t on this forum, via Facebook and guessing the correct forum name of one whose forum name on the list was incorrect), and then to make sure they had all joined the Strava club and authorized the app. Looking at the leaderboard now, there are still three teams with only 8 members each, and one with only 7.

Using highly scientiffic methods (that involved a duck and assorted corn meal), I deduced a team’s handicap score for one week would be 1250 points (and all teams except for those slackers were pretty much on the target). Tonite, we are finishing the first week of the game. I assume not all rides have been logged, but as of this moment, only two teams are above that 1250 point handicap!
cvcalhounParticipantI want to apologize on behalf of Team 2 for so demoralizing the other teams that only one other could even get above its handicap.

cvcalhounParticipantDang, didn’t the rules specify that you had to ride so much that our team would win, even if the rest of us just stayed home with hot chocolate?

Well, I’m sorry I let the team down with such a short ride this morning.
cvcalhounParticipantWhee! We’ve now got everyone accounted for!
cvcalhounParticipantFar be it from me to point out that you guys have an unreasonable handicap on that one, inasmuch as the rest of the teams only have 9 members.
Oh, wait, I did just point that out, didn’t I?

What’s the prize for being the first team with 10 members all appearing on the leaderboard? BACON!
cvcalhounParticipantThanks, Terpfan! We’ve now got all 9 of us showing up, which has clearly done wonderful things for our standing!

Looks like I’m on now as Terp F. The data is right for it albeit I forgot to turn on Strava two miles into my New Year’s ride last week, but all good. And team 2 is currently in the lead it seems.
cvcalhounParticipantLooks like all the members of Team 2 are now on our Team 2 club roster at Strava. Yay!
cvcalhounParticipantFearless leader has now been located, so all we need is Terpfan. Terpfan, if you see this, please request to join at http://app.strava.com/clubs/46386.
cvcalhounParticipantTerpfan, you’re still not showing up on the Strava club for Team 2, so the team isn’t getting credit for all that noble effort. Can you please go to http://app.strava.com/clubs/46386 and request to join the club?

I missed today , but I did log rides on 1st and yesterday to work and home (in the middle of that stupid storm–which I feel like is a double anti-sleaze ride making up for my likely sleaze ride to get coffee tomorrow morning).
cvcalhounParticipantThere is a link to the leaderboard at the top of the “How to Enter” thread.

can we have a link to the leader board at the top of one of the pages like we had last year. I found that wicked helpful and motivating. just got back from a quick 5 mile ride around the neighborhood. Not cold out at all today. Tuesday will be scary.

cvcalhounParticipantDid you make a request to join the team on Strava, at http://app.strava.com/clubs/46386? I’m not seeing you there, although if you applied recently, it’s possible that Subby just hasn’t seen and responded to your request yet. You’ll need to do that to have your points counted.

I’m in. Thanks for getting us started!
cvcalhounParticipantThe photo below is pretty typical, although at this time of year, I’ve also got Bar Mitts on the handlebars.

cvcalhounParticipantI’m announcing in advance my intention to be sleazy! I accurately stated when I joined this contest that I normally ride only two days a week, for a total of about 30 miles a week. The other five days, I normally go to the gym, which is about 2/3 of a mile from me. While I simply do not have the time to go on a long ride every day, I figure I can do a lot for my team’s points if I just start biking instead of driving to the gym. So, I’m not going to avoid sleaze rides, but will not object to random trash talk. To paraphrase Patrick Henry, “If this be sleazy, make the most of it!”
cvcalhounParticipantTeam 2 is set up, and can be found at http://app.strava.com/clubs/46386/members. How do we get them to show up?
@hozn 73553 wrote:
Yeah, now that real teams are configured, teams that aren’t setup yet (team 2, team 5) aren’t showing up. And folks that haven’t joined their teams aren’t showing up either.
