Strava flybys are now off by default. Just noticed this tonight. I liked this feature and was never hugely worried about the privacy implications but I suppose it’s open to various forms of abuse.
Despite the “creep factor” I looked at Flybys occasionally and have turned mine back on.
More on the demise of Flybys here. https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2020/10/strava-flyby-turns-feature.htmlAlexandriaBikerParticipantA year ago I asked DDOT to repair the bricks around the light pole on M Street at the north end of the bridge. We were so hopeful back then…

AlexandriaBikerParticipantI can’t say enough good things about the Hack Night events that Transportation Techies, Michael Schade and Mobility Labs put on monthly. Bike Hack Night is a treat for this crowd but other topics include Metro Hack Night, CaBi Hack Night and other transportation related topics. I have to believe Michael is thinking about how to make a Scooter Hack Night happen. I attend a few times a year when I am in town. RSVP through MeetUp.com so they have enough pizza and beer. Go!
AlexandriaBikerParticipantThe recommended Flare RT lights have been recalled. https://www.bikeradar.com/us/road/news/article/trek-recalls-some-bontrager-flare-rt-and-ion-700-rt-lights-48822/
AlexandriaBikerParticipantIt looked like the frame had couplings installed too. Hope you include them in the cost of the replacement bike. They aren’t cheap.
AlexandriaBikerParticipantIs this really a surprise? Like everyone else who rides across Trollheim, they slipped and fell. 😳
AlexandriaBikerParticipantA little late to this party but I will throw my .02 in here. I fully support scooters and e-bikes and want to see them in the bike lanes. Anything we can do to increase demand for “alternative transportation lanes” makes them more viable for the community. And scooters and e-bikes offer transportation to people that dont have or dont want access to cars. Yes the riders dont follow the law all the time and that is unfortunate. The same is true for drivers of large gas powered vehicles and that is unfortunate too.

He ended up in the Emergency Room and destroyed the bike. The gate is a tremendous hazard to bicyclists and we should lobby NPS to remove it.
AlexandriaBikerParticipantThe glass was on both bridges Monday morning around 9:30.

AlexandriaBikerParticipantOne year ago….
AlexandriaBikerParticipantThis is from a year ago …
Is there any change to the stop signs on trails issue? I was at the meeting where this was initially discussed but never saw the definitive conclusion from ACPD or Commonwealth Attorney. Do the signs have any legal standing in Arlington? Can anyone address if stop signs on trails have legal standing statewide? Nationwide?
This has come up in discussions over the last year and I’m just interested in having correct information. Thanks.
AlexandriaBikerParticipantJust confirming Bici in Barcelona is not available for daily or short term users. The minimum membership is 6 month or a year.
I rented a bike twice in Barcelona. It is an extremely friendly city for bicycles with bike lanes everywhere and traffic regulations (and drivers) that respect the bikers.
I was there in October 2016.

Dang… an Eddington of 62 would be sweet. What was your number this year? Mine was 48, which I thought was pretty respectable.
Ummm… thats lifetime Eddington, not annual. Im at 43 right now. And thats in miles. Maybe in 2018 or 2019 I’ll get to 100 km.
48 is a very respectable annual number. I was at 38 last year.
