Can someone please volunteer to handle registration?
This is Washington, D.C. – the global capital of resigning powerful political positions in order to spend more time with one’s family. Of course the only one in my house that wants to spend more time with me is the dog. Anyway, in light of (check one)
[ ] Nude photos that were leaked from iCloud
[ ] The fact that I am paid $$$$$ but cant play quarterback worth dirt
[ ] Recent allegations made by Rupert Murdock
[ ] My recent religious conversion, selling all my belongings, and moving to Kiev
[ ] Oprah told me toI hereby resign the Office of President of the United States… er, the Office of Registration Czar.
Who wants to volunteer?
December 3, 2014 at 9:45 pm #1016207chris_sParticipantI imagine I’m not the only person who hasn’t the faintest idea what’s involved in registering people.
December 3, 2014 at 9:52 pm #1016208rcannon100ParticipantRegistration form is up and running, collecting everyone’s most sensitive information. By the time we are done, the lucky registration czar should be able to steal the identity of everyone on the forum!
It pours into a Google spread sheet. Using the Steven O MR3 randomizer, plus geographic preferences, plus slacker preferences – you form teams of 10 to 12 people. It’s easy.
December 3, 2014 at 10:14 pm #1016210hoznParticipantWe can build this into the web app for future competitions too.

I will work with the registration czar to help form the teams using MR30. You do not want me to BE the registration czar, unless you don’t care what happens to the sluckers. . . I mean slackers.

December 24, 2014 at 4:05 pm #1017691rcannon100ParticipantWas thinking of a logo for FS2015 that followed this type of idea

Any volunteers?
December 26, 2014 at 11:32 pm #1017759rcannon100ParticipantToday during coffee ViceGrip came up with an excellent award. Given to the team that takes the most team rides. This could be determined by either Strava or maybe taking a group picture of the ride. The whole of the team would have to go on the ride. The captain would submit to the Czar the picture, a link to the ride on Strava, and or maybe a little write up. The winner could be the team with the most rides, the most days, the most miles or the most points for group rides.
Would anyone care to be Czar for this award and create it?
December 27, 2014 at 3:07 pm #1017781TerpfanParticipantSince I missed registration entirely, I can volunteer in some capacity. My tech skills are in par with my Nepalese languge skills–non-existent, but I can at least help produce a prize or something.
December 27, 2014 at 5:24 pm #1017786ArlingtonriderParticipantTerpfan, that’s nice of you, and at least one other non-participant has volunteered in the past. If you’d like to do something, the info near the bottom of my post today on the Newbie thread (happy hours, events, rides etc.) might be helpful.

I can understand if no one is interested. I really have no formal photoshop/image experience. I thought something like these might be cool, someone else might want to put something better together. Of course, if anyone has comments thoughts or “no thanks”, I’m all ears.

December 28, 2014 at 2:44 am #1017807wheelswingsParticipantum… I like them, but at the same time I wonder, do they look phallic or is it just me?
Not that I mind. :+)
Maybe it would be safer to do something like a picture of a pretty red bike (profile) with icicles/snowflakes superimposed, if anyone knows how to photoshop.December 28, 2014 at 3:04 am #1017808rcannon100Participant
Um, cough, um, really, appreciate the effort, um…. I think if we put that logo on anything we would get arrested!
Is there any way to do something like this
December 28, 2014 at 3:20 am #1017809hoznParticipantYeah, I was trying last year to suggest (hope for someone to create) a logo that incorporated the saddle/bullhorn head with a frozen motif. I considered putting it up on one of the e-lance type sites, as I imagine there are people in Bangalore or Bucharest that could do a fantastic job at a great exchange rate. I wish I had the Illustrator skillz to do it myself.
December 28, 2014 at 3:27 am #1017810rcannon100ParticipantThe Kid has done jobs on 99-Designs. Maybe I will use that. It would be nice to have a logo we could all use.
