ParticipantI will do my darnedest to be there before 6, but I can’t promise much else I’m afraid…

ParticipantAccording to Weather Underground, there is an 80% chance that I will be there… If it does rain, I can be there around 5:00 to help save tables.

ParticipantI’ll try to make it!

ParticipantJust in case the weather is iffy Thursday afternoon – the happy hour is a rain or shine event under a covered patio. A few scattered showers, or even a 5 pm drenching, have never stopped us in the past. Rules 5 and 9 apply.

ParticipantI plan to attend, even if SteveO shows up…

You have the wrong day! HH is Thursday, not tomorrow!

ParticipantOops – HH is still on Thursday! Kathy – Thanks for pointing out the error, now corrected.
My mind has been a muddle lately. Apologies for any confusion.

ParticipantIt seems like today’s best chance for rain and possible flooding is right around our happy hour time. We’re on, but please watch conditions closely and stay safe.

I bailed, which makes me sad, but I’ll definitely try to catch you next month!

ParticipantAnyone interested in a convoy from DC to today’s HH????
Wheels roll from TJ Memorial Capitol Bikeshare station @ 5:15pm, via 14th Street Bridge -> MVT -> 4MR -> Shirlington.
Please sound off if you plan to come along, rain or shine…but canceled if lightening threatens.August 20, 2015 at 3:20 pm #1036207GovernorSilver

Four Mile Run is right by the water, coming off of Mt. Vernon Trail. Does it flood as easily as Holmes Run does? Should I consider an alternative DC to Shirlington route?

Yes, 4MR does flood, but it takes quite a bit for that to happen…if so, you can bail out of the MVT at DCA, taking the exit to Crystal City, ride to the sewage plant, and pick up the 4MR trail there (which usually doesn’t flood unless we have a monsoon event).

ParticipantBoomer2u, in view of the weather forecast, I don’t think we’ll have too much difficulty saving tables, so if you want to roll out your convoy a little later (4:30 or 4:45?) , that would be fine. (On the other hand, 4:15 might be better for beating the rain.)

Departure time changed to 5:15pm due to popular demand [emoji4]
