As much as I would like to commend the enthusiasm shown here, as I ride the trails I am regularly annoyed by trail users that use spray paint to provide directions, offer encouragement or otherwise communicate. Spray paint is pretty permanent, particularly on surfaces that don’t get much traffic.

Last fall during the WABA membership campaign they used sidewalk chalk and that is gone now.

Please don’t use spray paint.

Thank you very much for this picture! I think it looks awesome, especially since at first you’d never be able to tell that the photo was shot looking over a bridge straight down at the river.

I was going to head to the bridge to get my own photo after work yesterday, but I first decided to take a nap…

…and promptly woke up at 7:30 pm, making it a bit more difficult to get a day shot.

Seconded, especially for the occasional Crazy Ivan arrows that I will see on the W&OD and Custis. I want to get my own spray paint and put underneath it “Look before turning” or “No Crazy Ivans!”
