^ I really could have used ski goggles like that — my sunglasses got fogged up the moment I put them on, so I had to take them off.
Yeah, it was my first time using ski goggles to ride. And I can tell you – it helped tremendously! Although, right after snapping this pic my wife said that it looked like I was going to go rob a bank.
I need to replace my old goggles (they’re older than some of my BAFS teammates). They were great for keeping my eyes and surrounding skin from freezing, but have lost all their anti-fogging properties and most of the insulating foam around the edges.
I love ski goggles for cold weather riding – keeps your sinuses/nosebridge a little warmer, anti-fog, a little bit of sun shade, and keeps eyeballs warm. Although today I did notice my eyes getting cold when riding into the wind. The big downside is reduced peripheral vision compared to a good set of sunglasses. I have two pairs of goggles that I bought just for cold weather riding.
Passed this on my lunchtime ride. It’s funny how appealing ice cream looks even when it’s frozen outside.
