So stinkin’ cute! Nice find, Hokiebeth!
January 2, 2022 at 4:26 am #1115315KbikevaParticipantPart of the joy of offering a prize is the opportunity to extend grace. When I saw the forecast up there today, I wasn’t sure ANYONE would be out riding, so you get points for that. I will “infer” the bike’s presence because why on earth would you have been out there anyway?
You can be whimsical in your recommendations for the LFL’s — that might get points. I totally get the not carrying extra stuff on rides.
January 2, 2022 at 4:29 am #1115316KbikevaParticipantIf your book/bike loving kid ends up with you on one of these rides, I’m pretty sure the faceless cabal has extra points for junior reader/riders! Just get a part of that rider in the photo.
January 2, 2022 at 4:31 am #1115317KbikevaParticipantIs that open to the elements? It doesn’t look like the books have any protection! Yikes! (nice find and use of coordinates!)

This one could use more books on wildlife, given that it had a sign on the base indicating that this was a certified wildlife area.

Alexandria, VirginiaThis library has mixed media – print, audio books and videos. The library included the book “Making Pop-ups and Novelty Cards.”
January 2, 2022 at 11:00 pm #1115365AlanAParticipantAt the corner of Olney Mill Rd. and Thornberry Ln. in Olney.
It was getting pitch black and a light rain started, but I got my stinking picture!! Whew! I did beat the heavier rain home.
This was well stocked with some kids books and some travel guides to So. Cal. (what a great idea!!). It even had Total Recall which is always a fun Arnie movie to watch.
I also took the time to get the bike this time.

This library was fully stocked with a good variety of both children and adult books, so I liberated a book by Miss Manners, because in this day and age, I’ve discovered that MANY people need to learn a few more manners.

This Little Free Library (N Latham St and Taney Ave, Alexandria) has books and some grocery items. Next time, I will leave a bag of rice or beans. This time, I added a book (Lust for Life by Irving Stone) into its collection.

It had a lot of books for the younger grades but could use more chapter books for grades 4 – 6. Since I pass this one fairly frequently, I’ll need to look around my house to see if I have any young chapter books to add.

This Little Free Library in 1500 block of Newton St NE is super cute, with it’s own mini bird house, and very well stocked. Second LFL visit with my 10 year old (hers is the purple bike), who reminded me that one time she got a cross stich crafting book here, and was shocked to find out that every design had a swear words in it! Subversive cross stich! She brought that one right back.

This little library could definitely use more children’s books. Though I did observe a lovely Madeline book!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
