In trying to plan a good game for the BA & Revolution Cycles Holiday Ride, does anyone have any favorite contenders for lights that are fun and can be used to deck out a bike? I’m thinking Christmas light strings with practical battery packs.
I have good, practical lights, but sometimes the dark of winter calls for something a little bit more… absurd? Colorful? Fun?December 8, 2015 at 1:57 pm #1042455dasgehParticipantI get lots of comments on my light up construction vest (I can let you borrow one). Also, I think lights in unexpected places…

Kinda like putting a wreath on the grille of a Jeep or something, only much better. Made me smile!

No, he’s been sporting Mickey Mouse ears at coffee this week, just got back from Disney. It was a turkey before that, and he says the Santa hat will be coming out soon.

I work with him, assuming there isn’t more than one, and that is his route. I enjoy razzing him about it a bit, but the guy is full-on Christmas and wears it with pride. As you’d have to.

Wallmart had led strings made to bikes in the bike section Take care to avert your eyes when around Wally World bikes.

Great DIY project if you’ve done any tinkering with Arduinos etc. (Though the spousal response was “don’t you even!”.)
A simpler project is EL wiring. It’s marketed as a product called Bike Glow for about $25. (The components cost about half that and the only work is adding a connector between the inverter and the wire, if you’re comfortable with a soldering iron. If you DIY it the wire can be multi-color and trimmed to line your frame.)
