This one is probably easy for those who go this way, but it was the first time I’ve been by.

That’s the new trail at Meadowlark? It’s on my list to get over there.

I have been wanting to ride to this spot. Today was the day.

I think this might be a little to far west / suburban / not bike friendly location for most of the forum. It is a cool statue though.

I’m trying to imagine why someone would actually want to ride there.

Corner of Monument Dr & Fair Lakes Parkway near Fair Oaks Mall – GB’s right, I only know this from driving there

One of my commute options runs past it. (Jermantown Road across 50, behind Burlington, past Wegmans & REI, wave to the incongruous horse on the way to Fairfax County Parkway or the rocky run trail.) It’s reasonably rideable, but utilitarian more than scenic.

    Correct.

Yes, I agree, but that was part of the challenge.

Riding along on a gorgeous fall day (Saturday), we try a new-to-us trail, when we came across a fire hydrant. Huh?

(I promise the view facing the other direction is similar — no houses, buildings, structures, streets).

The forest moon of Endor? That hydrant really does seem out of place!
