Looks like I just might ambush y’all at Misha’s. Or maybe wake early and put in another 10 Octothorpe miles to join you at the start. ;-)

Do you have ballpark estimates for when you’ll be arriving at the various stops? I realize this is tough to figure, but I was thinking of meeting you at the DC stop with the kids and possibly tagging along to Java Shack. Wouldn’t want to miss a chance to haul two kids up the Custis.

Yes. When we get a little closer, I will post the 100% reliable ;) agenda. Definitely the goal is to allow people to hop on and off the ride. It will look something like this

    9:00 am Assemble at Bikenetic
    9:26 am Depart Bikenetic
10:10 am Misha’s for 30 minute pie break (Buy Your Own)
    10:40 Depart Misha’s
11:40 District Cycle Works Pie Break (Buy Your Own)
    12:10 Depart District Cycle Works
12:40 Java Shack final stop Pie Break

I have one part of this ride I want to fuss with (I have us cycling thru holmes run and cameron run – which I always love. But how do we get from Bikenetic to Holmes Run? The WOD? Is there a good way through Lake Barcroft? Probably so we will probably see some revisions).

The Rock and Roll Get in Your Way Marathon is also that day, so we have to time it to miss Elvis running down Constitution Ave.

Again, if you are coming – please note it on the FB page or like the original post – so that the Pie Guy knows how many bourbon pies to bring!!!

WOD to Bluemont Park. Across 50 on Manchester. Glen Carlyn over to the Lake Barcroft dam.

We might need a practice run. You know, to make sure everything runs smoothly on the 14th.

This whole pi thing sounds subversive to me. I may very well have to intercept you at Misha’s to investigate

Would it be permissible for me and Miss Slowtriguy to join the group for the last stop? The full loop would be a bit much for her, but I think she’d be up for a shorter Pi Day ride, considering this is one of her favorite shirts…

I thought that was this weekends ride with Vin.

Please do. That is the design. Phoenix may join us at the Java Shack as well. Please either LIKE the first post or join the event on FB so that we have something that remotely resembles a pie count.

Oh crap, I guess I won’t volunteer this year to bike marshal the race. It was always fun being able to claim that I was the fifth or sixth finisher in the marathon. ;)

This sounds amazing! I just joined the ride on facebook, I hope that’s ok – is it open to everyone participating in Freezing Saddles or only the more advanced riders? I’m new to the forum/freezing saddles/biking as a hobby in general :), but would love to join for one or two stops (I’m pretty slow and definitely wouldn’t be able to keep up for the whole ride).

Edit: I’ll no longer be able to join, I’m so bummed! Have to head out of town instead and missing the Vasa ride too :( Hope you all have a wonderful ride! If there are any other future group rides that involve stopping for tasty treats, I’m in!

We will post a fictitious agenda probably a week before the ride that will remotely resemble the agenda posted above. Yes, please, that is the design, join us for any legs or stops of the ride. And yes, we will probably break into different groups of different speed riders. Let ArlingtonRider and all the ELITE riders take the lead – and us slow FREDS will follow with dreams of raisin-bourbon pie driving us forward as we ford the gullies of Holmes Run

Unofficial Made Up Schedule along with made up, there is a slim chance we might follow, route.

    Saturday March 14
    * 9:00 am Gathering at Bikenetic (coffee and pie)
    * 9:26 am Depart (look it up)
    * Get lost in Holmes Run and Cameron Run
    * 10:38 am Arrive at MISHA’s in Alexandria for 30 min Pie break #1 (Buy your own)
    * 11:08 am Wander north through Del Ray
    * 12:12 pm Arrive District Cycle Works in G’Town for 30 min Pie Break #2 (Buy your own)
    * 12:42 pm Journey up the C&O
    * 1:08 pm Arrive Java Shack for Pie Break #3 (Pi Festival!!!!!!)

Participants who complete this tremendous feat will be treated to Pie at the end of the ride at the Java Shack. Please feel free to join us at any point in the ride.

This will be a coffee style ride. Maybe break into groups of faster riders and slower riders.

We will be enjoying the Acme Pie Co. pie!

This is a disorganized, unsupported ride, brought to you by the same people who brought you Freezing Saddles. Ride at your own risk. Follow any route. Join at any point. Leave at any point. It’s up to you. The most important this is: enjoy some pie

Will you be serving sacramental pancakes at Bikenetic?
