    Hi all,

New member here, so if I break any unwritten rules please let me know. I’m moving at the end of the month to near 14th & Colorado NW. I need to get to my job in Tenleytown and while Google bike directions suggests crossing Rock Creek park on Blagden Avenu, I’ve never done that before. Well, that, and Google directions can be a bit spotty. I live in Columbia Heights right now, so I’m expecting some pretty intense hills thru the park, but would like to know people’s opinons on whether Blagden is a more gently hilly street than, say Military Road, which looks much more direct.

    Thoughts?

I just looked and Military Rd is such a highway-type road it might be pretty intimidating. Anybody ever ridden up Broad Branch Rd?

Broad Branch is a bit of a rolling climb, iirc (I usually just go straight up Beach in the area, but have ridden Broad Branch a few times). If I were crossing, I’d take Blagden to Beach, head south on Beach (either on road or side path, depending on time of time), then climb up Tilden. Tilden’s *definitely* a climb, but it’s probably the most direct route, and wide enough that traffic doesn’t bother.
