The long-ish walk between the center part of Old Town and the King Street (or even Braddock Road) metro station seems like a “low-hanging” fruit for a few CaBi stations. Just about a little too long to walk, but just a little too short and uncertain to wait for a bus or shuttle.

I know Alexandria isn’t in on this great partnership yet, but just an idea!

And, of course, the East end of King St. connects to the Mt. Vernon trail and would be a logical link to Crystal City (and the rest of Arlington when the stations start filling in there.) I like it – I like it a lot!

Another vote for having CaBi stations in Old Town. Plenty of local businesses, plenty of people and easy access to the Northern Virginia trail network make it a perfect location for a few stations. Maybe several stations.

Alexandria transportation officials are discussing the possibility of adding a cluster of six CaBi stations around the Old Town, King Street or Carlyle areas. Nothing has been decided but it looks like the officials would like to see this happen.
