Can’t wait to take the kiddos for a treat for Bike Home From School this afternoon.

Listened to a BA Rep today on NPR report on bike walk to school day.

My kids school requires paperwork to be filled out and route approved before they can ride to school. Is this common?

Is this even legal? Does the school have to approve of your kids’ bedtimes as well?

I was asked to submit the route to the principal and the school officer beforehand. No paperwork, though. At our school, there are NO designated walkers; everyone is bussed, so they were a bit nervous.

Are you in Fairfax? If so, do you know Jeff Anderson of Safe Routes to School Fairfax? He might be interested to know this. Can you tell me the school, or send it via private message? Thanks.

Bike to School in Arlington went well for the most part–some schools postponed until Friday, but the schools that BikeArlington helped out at had a great turnout!

Fairfax County, Falls church area. Elementary school in this case, might not be the case for 7/8 and high school. I can see the school from my front yard so my kids walk every day. Riding might take longer than walking. There is a mom across the street that drives up and drops off her kids.
