Judd, I’m really looking forward to the bike polo match you have planned for us on this ride. Front lawn of the White House?

I told you in person but in case you missed it in your count-me too!
I’m hoping to crawl out of bed in time to meet Sunyata and Komorebi in Shirlington to bike to pancakes first too…pancakes + bike ride seems like the best day ever.

What time are you rolling out of Shirlington? Perhaps I’ll join you.

Don’t forget to pack your mallet. Bike polo is actually a thing in DC but it works like fight club.

I had hoped to post a ride map, but Google Maps was so infuriating that I nearly chucked my MacBook out the window.
The ride is starting in Rosslyn and ending at Jones Point in Alexandria. Sunyata has suggested that there should be a post ride after party at Bluejacket in SW DC, which is a fantastic idea. The ride is about 20 miles and the end point is adjacent to the Mt. Vernon trail. I’ll make sure that everyone gets to a place where they know how to get home.

You have been counted! I’ll be meeting up in Shirlington to convoy for pancakes before the ride. The pancakes at Mike’s are totally awesome. See you tomorrow!

I had no idea that we’d be doing some bike polo. That sounds like fun.
And I will be one of those people that need some serious help getting back home. I know how to get to Arlington (since my Mom used to live there and I would visit every so often). But once I’m out of my comfort zone, I’m clueless. The only way I ever came back home was Via Chain Bridge and went up Arizona by AU and then worked my way through Rock Creek.
February 19, 2017 at 11:29 pm #1066465sjclaeysParticipantI’m thinking about joining for at least part of the ride, but have a question about the schedule. If the idea is to be at Mike’s at 8:30 for pancakes and then be at TR Island at 11:20, that seems to leave a lot of time for eating pancakes.
February 20, 2017 at 12:36 am #1066466streetsmartsParticipantLots and lots of pancakes!!

So why are you talking about it?

Pancakes is not officially part of the ride. Official ride assembles at 10:30 in Rosslyn with wheels in the ground at 11. First stop is deepthroat garage and then to TR Island.
