It’s hard to believe but this idiocy–I mean wonderful challenge–that we call Freezing Saddles is currently coming to an end at midnight this Saturday/cusp of Sunday. But fret not dear friends as your BAFS 2016 happy hour committee has been busy planning a fete worthy of the most skilled, roadworthy, badass cyclists the world has ever seen.
So come join us for the closing happy hour:
Where: Mr Smith’s of Georgetown, 3205 K St NW, Georgetown
When: Thursday, 31 March 2016, 1700-2000hr (5-8pm for you non-military time aficionados)We will provide a bike corral like last time and will be in the upstairs room again. Additionally, we had $$$ left over from last time so we’ll have lots of vittles for you and maybe even some pitchers of beer!
Best of all, we’ll be awarding those fantastic pointless prizes that everyone was been busily vying for and crowning the winners all around. What could be more fun than eating, drinking, and celebrating with your fellow BAFSers? I can’t think of anything better.
If you can make it to our grand affair, please reply to this thread so we’ll know how much grub to order. We hope to see you there!

March 15, 2016 at 10:44 pm #1049488CPTJohnCParticipantFor the sake of making sure the numbers are clear, I’ll be there.
March 16, 2016 at 12:27 am #1049492JoanParticipantI’ll be there.
March 16, 2016 at 12:28 am #1049493whunkeParticipantI should be able to make it
March 16, 2016 at 12:49 am #1049494shardgParticipantI will be there, thanks for arranging.I look forward to seeing who won the various prizes and hoisting a beer in their honor.
March 16, 2016 at 12:57 am #1049497jrenautParticipantThough it pains me to skip happy hour, I will be in Torquay, Victoria, Australia, hanging out at the beach in the southern hemisphere during the final happy hour. I’ll be sure to Tweet you a picture when we get back to Melbourne and I check out their bikeshare. Miss me bunches.
March 16, 2016 at 1:05 am #1049498sjclaeysParticipantDarn, second year in a row that I’m out of town and miss the final HH.
March 16, 2016 at 1:06 am #1049499KWLParticipantI definitely will be there. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting.
March 16, 2016 at 2:53 am #1044568D_a_n_eParticipantI think it’s safe to say that 60 – 75% of participants will be there. Not sure how many people will RSVP on this thread, though.
But I think we should find a bigger venue. The opening HH was soooo packed.March 16, 2016 at 3:07 am #1049500jrenautParticipantI see you disliking my post, Kwarkentien. I’d just like you to know how disappointed I am that I can’t make it. My first FS final happy hour was the year before I first participated in FS. I went to happy hour because tons of my friends were going and it seemed like a good time. Turns out it was, and it inspired me to participate the next year. And the next. And then to absolutely destroy my previous mileage records the next year.
So while I can’t attend this year, you can be sure I will be thinking about all of you, and looking forward to seeing you all at coffee clubs or group rides or whatever may come for the rest of the year.
