2/1/24 – ALIVE

I went on a Babes ride to Riverbend this afternoon. Riding to Riverbend has always been a Babes favorite Cuz it’s so beautiful there. Today we hiked first, so the ride was only from Spring hill Rec ctr in McLean, so 20.miles instead of 40ish.  Joan planned it so we’d only be Old Georgetown Rd for about a half mile.

Well traffic has changed. Maybe more people live up that way now – but it was DICEY. We rode that half mile 130 -2pm, and it was so bad Cathy called her husband for a pickup. But despite the scary nasty dicey traffic, here we all are at Riverbend, ALIVE! 

2/1 – This horse at Rock Creek stable was very much ALIVE when I visited there today

This segregation wall CLEFT two neighborhoods in North Arlington.

It was built in the 1930s to keep the black people of the neighborhood of Halls Hill out of the neighborhood of Woodlawn Village.

2/2 cleft

you can make a cleft with your cleaver. I asked the staff at iron rooster if they had a meat cleaver and could pose for a photo for my scavenger hunt. This will have to do.
