Its taken several weeks of training without a purpose (I knew I was training, but didn’t know for what!) and much deliberating, but I’ve finally chosen that this year’s century attempt will be the Indian Head 100.

I’ll be out of town when the mid-August ones happen, and work commitments will keep me from traveling in September, so this (relatively) local one on labor day sounded like a good compromise. The timing should even allow a bit of recovery before 50 States!

Anyone else considering it for this year? It sounded like folks who did it last year had a good time (if the forum posts are to be believed). If you’ve done it before, do have any advice as to what to train for/expect?

Two centuries in a week? Why not. Thanks for posting this (the entry fee goes up tomorrow!).

I just signed up for this, cause Judd told me about it. Presumably Komorebi signed up too since she is our gang leader. We can all get a whole WAAS peloton going.

I believe I’ll be around for this. If I ride to the ride and ride from the ride (70 mile RT), then I can probably only do the 47 mile option.

    Okay, registering now.

Are we a team? That’s a question on the registration form.

I might if I am back early enough for it.

    Metaphorically, yes. Actually, no…t yet?

Can some kind soul give poor Steve O a ride so he can the full century route? Or lend me a four bike rack so I can drive him? (I’m making the assumption that I’m driving Komorebi and LSG already)

If my schedule allows me to participate, he (and anyone else) is welcome to ride with me

I had been on the fence about signing up due to the hilliness of the course, but it looks like I’ve been peer-pressured into registering. Count me in for the WAAS peloton.

I’m happy to drive myself (although I can’t take any passengers) if that means Steve O can catch a ride with Judd and do the full century.

I can haul him down there on my trailer.

This is the new plan. I want pictures and video.

Steve O – The forum has you covered on a ride so you can do the full century. Welcome to the peloton.

Oh wow! I’m THRILLED that so many folks are in! I’d really like to roll with the peloton but I’m not going to be as speedy as most of you on my cross bike. But I do have road wheels now… and I’ll take off my rack and other commuter gear…

Promise not to drop me too hard? :p Worse comes to worse I’ll see you all at the finish

This is a great ride. Fingers crossed this should be my #5 of 10

You lie! I rode with you on the cider ride and it was all just fine.

Indian Head was a much easier ride last year because the dropped the monster hill in the last 3 miles. I think it was a mile at 8% grade. Let’s hope they put it back in this year!!!
