That's kind of a spicy title for this thread... not normally what we'd expect when talking about a multi-use trail. If that's why you clicked on this thread, you'll be sorely disappointed.

Tree roots push up the pavement, creating bumps that are not fun to ride or run over. The Park Service have a machine that grinds those bumps off. They used it yesterday on parts of the trail at the north end.

In the short term, this is a nice thing. It makes the trail nice and smooth. In the long term, it probably isn't the best way of dealing with bumps. After a few weeks, potholes start to form. It is a great thing to smooth things off before paving is done.
