Pending the "real" group photo - this is a screen capture from my video camera that was also illuminating the group at the start. Maybe there was too much light coming from my camera?

You're welcome. For those of you who missed it, I think we may have set an all-time attendance record. I think there were 14? What a great time with all of you! Thanks for coming along.
The highlight was definitely the bombing down Wisconsin after midnight.
Also, the train of about 15 Cabi Riders from Utah at nearly 1am riding the MVT to their hotel in Crystal City. Serious kudos to them.
And, we were at the corner of Massachusetts and 34th, where the Naval Observatory clock shows the official time, at exactly 12:00:00. I tried to take a picture, but it didn't come out.
You know, that's what makes Midnight Saddles so great. You never know what interesting stuff you might see, or unusual perspectives on the usual, in the middle of the night.

Hmmm... Something is not letting me [Like] AliasXIII's pics. So count this as 2 likes.

SteveO- thank you again for guiding us again. Much fun!

Was surprised to come across 2 groups of hikers on the Mt Vernon at 1am... (or were there 3?)

I’m always sad to not make it to a midnight Saddles, especially since there were folks there that I haven’t met yet.

The tandem will be out in full force for the next one.*

*Unless Komorebi hates riding on it and refuses to Midnight Tandem.

Default Blood Moon Eclipse - Frankfurt Edition

There's still time for people to get their flights booked and join me for a ride on Thursday, July 27. The eclipse starts just before sunset and will last about four hours. Unfortunately it will not be visible in the DC area.

Couldn't get a usable photo last night during my solo almost Midnight Saddles Blood Moon/Lunar Eclipse ride so I stole these two from the consulate facebook group. It started out looking like it was going to be a non-event with some clouds where the moon would rise. I rode the eight miles down the Nidda River to Höchst without being able to spot the moon. Then after crossing the Main at 22:30 and heading back into Frankurt I saw the faint burnt orange moon about a quarter obscured over a field about 10 degrees above the horizon. Then I saw it off an on until I got home at 23:30. Thre were lots of people out watching the eclipse, in fact in some places they were blocking the cycle path. Also remind me to not ride along the Main path even at 23:00 on a beautiful Friday night, especially after at HOT (95°F) day! Seemed like have of the young population was down there.
