Default Midnight Saddles - Easter Egg Hunt

Before the ride, I took the role of Easter Bunny and rode the route in reverse, dropping eggs off along the way. Each multi-colored egg had a colored frog light and piece of paper with a number between 1 and 18 on it for the special prize drawing to take place at Brookland's Finest.

The first egg I hid (Judd found it; interestingly, he got the first and last eggs on the hunt); an egg near the Benning Rd bridge that everyone else missed

I thought this tooth-shaped bike rack outside a dentist's office was really neat; taking our bikes onto the patio at Brookland's Finest

Me and the robot library; some jerk parked their car in the middle of the Mall, encased it in a lit box, and hired a cop to watch it

Thanks again, Steve, for hosting this ride; it was a lot of fun!

Komorebi and I rode to Baltimore earlier in the day and only got short naps before Midnight Saddles so we left a bit early.

There's a mirror at a blind corner on the Met Branch Trail. I called "bikes right" and then "never mind, it's us in the mirror." Tired brain.

I got a nice picture of Komorebi with a sharrow marking and the Washington Monument on the way home.

Here's photographic evidence of pie consumption at Brookland's Finest. Thanks for putting together the ride and for providing the pie, Steve, and thanks for organizing the Easter egg hunt, bobco. It was a fun ride, even on tired legs!

I definitely wanted to join the Midnight Saddles crew, but as I biked to Baltimore (baby's first metric century+) with Judd and Komorebi earlier I don't exactly regret spending the evening resting and watching the Caps lose. Hope to be a part of the next one!

Good for you on the metric century Bill. I'm working my way up to that!

The Baltimore ride went a little something like this:

Birru: "This is the farthest I've ever ridden. I hope I don't slow you guys down."
Birru pulls for the last half of the ride.
    Komorebi gets 52 trophies.
    Judd gets 31 trophies.

Mmmm, Judd is from Illinois, maybe a fan of the Blackhawks that have not yet scored a goal in the playoffs.

I'm from the part of Illinois that hates the Blackhawks too, but I haven't watched hockey seriously since Brett Hull played.
