Welcome folks! It was good to meet (most) everybody at BAFSHH last night!!!!
EDIT: Here's a list of Team 5's members:
HEART: Team Five
First things first - I'm by no means volunteering to be team captain by posting this! I'm a total Strava newb and have to manually enter my miles. I'm a troglodytic luddite when it comes to GPS-enabled bike adventures. (but I'm getting better...)
I believe Boomer snapped a pic of the Heart team in attendance at the happy hour - feel free to post it up here.
I guess the first thing would be for us to decide on a team name? Or pick a Captain (Oh captain)?

I'm happy to be the captain since I did it last year, unless someone else wants to do it. In the meantime, I can set up to Strava team just using our team number for now. It can be changed to our team name once we pick it.

Let me know what you all think of the image that I have for our Strava club. Speaking of which, sign up!

Other teams seem to be introducing themselves, which is probably useful.
I'm Gillian. I live in Arlington, cherrydale to be exact (near spout run / the s curve of doom), and work in dc, near the state department/Lincoln memorial. Other bikey hats I wear include chair of Arlington's bac and founder of Kidical Mass Arlington. I'm hopefully good for points everyday, but don't expect to be putting in any long rides (for reasons that will be clear soon enough). For team challenges, I can usually meet during lunch on weekdays in downtown dc or near-the-river arlington. Weekends I'm usually arlington-bound with kids in tow.
Look forward to meeting yall. Oh and I have no name suggestions. My four year old suggests "Heart Maker Shop". My more-creative-than-me husband suggestions something like "Courtland Milloy's heart" or "Lon Anderson's cardiologist"
Hello all! I met several of you at the HH. I'm in central Arlington (Alcova Heights - hence the name). My normal commute is from there to the FCC which is at the DC landing of the 14th St bridge. I ride pretty regularly, but usually not too far - my commute is 11 miles round trip. I seem to be on parallel with Gillian, who's one point ahead of me at the moment (which made me consider going out for another quick 2 miles ride tonight; sanity prevailed).
I am game for weekend rides of middling length (20-30 miles) though may have my 15-yo son along too (we've done the Arlington loop together and a 22-mile out&back). I can't ride Sunday afternoons, since I assistant-coach my daughters softball team and we practice 12-3.
I like Gillian's suggestion, but offer "Courtland Milloy's Frozen Heart" as an alternative. By the way, googling "Blackheart" takes you to a lingerie site and is not recommended when you are on the Navy/Marine Corps Internet. I am open to other team names too and will try to think of some other suggestions. We could also go with something not heart-related.

Reason: Oh yeah, my name is Chris :-)
Hi all! This is my first year participating in the freezing saddles competition. I met a lot of you at the happy hour and hopefully will meet the rest of you sometime soon. i do most of my biking to and from work, which is 9 miles each way from Old Town to Ballston. I volunteered to organize happy hours, and some of us were talking about a potential group ride or meet up at a central happy hour location. I'll work on organizing that for an upcoming Saturday. See you all on the trails, and looking forward to crushing the competition with you!
