did 48 miles roundtrip today, and by the time i was nearing home i ran out of juicy climbing hills with no shade. Riding on the capital crscent trail was easy because its a few degrees cooler!

I find no matter how slow i ride, i still get all sweaty.

Definitely a warm and sticky ride in this am. Let's see what the day brings...

My commute is short, so biking wasn't really a hardship today or yesterday. This is my first year of bike commuting. It feels less terrible, actually, riding along with my big roomy t-shirt* catching a breeze than sitting, squinting, in my car, waiting ages for a left-turn signal.

*This is probably not correct cycling gear but it works for me.

Correct is what works for you. We're not the fashion police here. Well, maybe, kinda, sorta....

So, I'll never make it into Cycle Chic. I'm OK with that.

National just posted a temperature of 101 at 4pm so definitely take it easy out there! Yesterday I sprayed as much water on my head as I drank.

Storms are starting to pop now too so if you delay leaving keep an eye on the radar.

It was frigging hot. I was spinning 18mph watching my HR at 165 - that's nuts.

I'm west of town, storms are firing up here and moving east now.

Much better than last night. I think that SW breeze that kicked up in advance of those storms cleared out some of the low level pollution. (Plus it was a tailwind for me!)

Got the long johns out this morning - positively chilly after Wednesday and Thursday. I think I might have frostbite.

I guess that I should report in the trail conditions forum that all the snow from last night has melted, so there's no need to use the snow tires today. Sorry that I'm so late in posting that up.

    Love,

    Pete
