My blue navigator cruz electric bike was stolen Monday morning July 7th in front of Cafe Asia on Wilson blvd. I locked my bike, on the bike rack with my spiral lock (like I've done every day the past 6 months), at 10am. By 6:30 pm I returned to a missing bike and zero witnesses. I asked restaurants, filed a police report, but nothing is helping. This bike is useless without it's charger and keys, and very very heavy with it's battery still inside it(it's under the seat). So I really can't believe it was stolen...
It's a very expensive bike and it took me working three jobs to pay for it. So any information will be greatly appreciated! I am devastated! It also has a black plastic basket on the back. The photo shows the spiral lock that I used, too.
Sorry to hear If you have renters or homeowners insurance they may cover the bike theft. My renters policy with liberty mutual does, and I know state farm and a few others do as well. For an expensive bike, it may be worth filing a claim.
Awful news - as Emm says, chek with your home owners/renter insurance for coverage. Its a great looking bike - hoping you can get it back.
Also, can we all agree that Bike shops just need to stop selling cable locks altogether. They're not doing anyone any good - regardless of be a more affordable option...you're likely to end up paying more in the end with a stolen bike.
Found a similar bike, not sure if it's the same bike, I couldn't find the serial number. The current "owner"; a 70+ old Korean, said he paid $400 for it at JP Shopping Center, which I think he meant BJ Warehouse as he was pointing to its direction. He has the keys to the bike, which is why I think it's a different bike. He hangs out with his friends at the same place everyday, and always have the bike in sight. PM Sent.
