According to the project manager, this section of the trail will be completed early in May. Planting, site furniture, irrigation and lighting will be installed by the end of April. The final top coat of asphalt and lining will be installed the first week of May, weather permitting.

Default Let's Bike the Potomac Yard Trail

Here's a video I just finished of the Potomac Yard Trail. I covered between King St Metro and Crystal City to show how interconnected the corridor has become with the addition of this trail and the completion of the connector path between Main Line Blvd and Braddock Road.

Since you shot your video, the paving on Braddock Road has been completed.

I was almost going to reschedule shooting my footage for another weekend when I saw the truck there, but I decided to leave it in there. I do like the new asphalt, though (love that smooth asphalt).

Final paving of the trail has been delayed to resolve an on-going drainage problem. The contractor has not provided a schedule for when the work will be completed.

A new contractor is going to be grading a swale on the west side of the trail between the trail and the athletic fields (to the left of the picture) during the week of August 24-28. The contractor is not anticipating any impact to the trail during the grading.

The Potomac Yard Trail has been extended by about 200 feet north of Glebe Road. However, it doesn't appear that it will be of much use for a while.

Looking north from Glebe Road, there is a green chain link fence blocking the path.
