    Shawn,
    Same here, ridewithgps and my garmin 810. Lots of planning to pick a route that minimizes backtracking (not always what you'd think if you were drawing by hand)

    I also employ back-up recordings on my Garmin Oregon 650, edge 200 and sometimes iPhone. As a purist, at heart, I limit my drawings to follow streets, but take advantage of parks, parking lots, fields (open spaces) to draw between streets (you did this on your propeller and I'm doing it on my elephant, taking advantage of artistic opportunities on the national mall between Wash Mon and Smithsonian). Also, I discovered small doesn't work because GPS resolution is insufficient for any art contained in an area less than one-half mile in diameter--see my Raffa Festive 500 Patch at the very tip of Hanes Pt.

    Festive 500 patch variation--This is what it was supposed to look like!

    This is what actually got recorded!

    That sir, is an affront to my sensibilities.

    Man, I wish I could sit in a nice cozy cockpit and draw, instead of freezing, dodging cars, waiting at lights, and wondering about some of the neighborhoods I've seen!

    [QUOTE=eminva;76280]Happy New Year!

    QUOTE]

    Eminva,
    There is so much I like about your 15+ mile Strava horse! I admire your excellent use of streets to create your drawing, especially the mane, the ear, and the tail. I understand the patience and precision needed for the backtracking required to create the legs and tail. I enjoy the gestural angle of the rear legs and the whimsical hooves on the front legs, all delivered with playful yet credible lines. This is larger and more complex than your first creation (the pig) plus this horse has the vertical orientation which, in my opinion, is the mark of a superior Strava drawing. I can't wait to see what's next!
