However, I don't know of any pleasant bike routes between Northern Virginia and Williamsburg. I guess it's doable, but that route doesn't sound too appealing.

I'm thinking about Bike Route 1 to Richmond and then riding the Cap to Cap on May 10. Yeah, it looks like the Bike Route 1 may have some unpleasant parts.

It looks like less than 20% of Bike Route 1 is actually on Route 1, and much of the part that is would not make for fun riding.
