Tysons area: Sidewalks along RT-7 under RT-123 bridge have been largely completed. Visibility is okay, worst area is when going east as bridge columns obscure cars, but it's better than I expected. I didn't have trouble crossing the two times I tried. Going west is blocked by current construction of adjacent new tall building, but it should finish in few months.

Well, this is bad news as part of the good news.
The intersection construction on the Rosslyn Hill is being finished up at Scott Street. However, I noted this problem this morning:

The beg button poles are being placed virtually in the path of travel. It is hard to imagine a more dangerous place to put them.

Work on the Clarendon circle in Arlington will start next week. It's estimated to take about 1 year. Big improvement for pedestrians, couple of tweaks for bicyclists as well.

Noted yesterday and this morning that they have added the "orange cones that fix everything" on both sides of the pole, so yeah, they're on it.

I actually think the other pole is worse, and why two poles?

I think that, because of where the curb cuts are, you'd be less likely to hit the one further downhill. The one further up the hill comes into sight a little late too; as you round the corner, your vision is obscured. Not too much of a problem if you're going slowly, but not everyone will since it's downhill.

I was looking for it the first time and I was still a little surprised by it. Hundreds of cyclists riding through here over time and accidents are going to happen.

ETA that I reported it as a trail problem. The more people who point it out, the better.

The protected bike lane along Quincy in Arlington was made better with heavy duty planters yesterday. Really cool to see this getting better and better.
