Now those of us in South Arlington can have our own ssss turn of doom, possibly with more turns.

Four Mile Run: Now with more DOOM. Has a nice ring to it.

I think the doom on Custis' s-turn is mostly because of the tree coverage, so maybe this will work out better.

I counted the hairpin turns in the dirtwork tonight. Looks like four turns.

Twice as much doom as the Custis.

One year they "refinished" the S Turn of doom on the Custis. Whatever they put down on the pavement was slick as hell. Probably something water repellent which they thought would help maintain the assfault. The S Turn of Doom turned into a slippery slide.

From this evening. Work continues. Now with double the doom! The vertical strip on the side might be a stairway, or the fast way down!

I hope they put up low walls though to stop erosion (but low enough so we can see people coming down the hill).

Are we going to insist they name this Lombard Street East" and put up an appropriate sign? Also a 5 mph speed sign and lots of flowers.

Can they please just stop right there and leave it? That looks like so much fun...

The fence at the bottom would be a sure stop!

If it is wonderful (in whatever final form it appears), Arlington can claim it as ours. If not, we will highlight the doom actually is in North Alexandria (an artifact of the old course of FMR).

ps - This would be a good one for Jeremy Cannon to bag the first KOM for the hill.
