Default Guessing this isn't a good development...

Went to clean my chain and cassette after riding, had planned to do a nice long ride this weekend. Going to guess (as this is my first carbon frame bike) that this isn't a good sign...

Looks like it's test out the warranty time. Less than 45 days of ownership.

Bummer, but really tough to tell from the pic. Could easily be the paint itself, especially if you have been riding in the cold and storing in the heat. The color/lacquer/carbon will all expand at different rates occasionally causing stress and cracks in the paint itself, albeit this is less common on carbon bikes but far more common on aluminum (here is mine)...

however I wouldn't ride it until Fresh Bikes gets a good look at it. Most manufacturers are really good at taking care of these issues for their customers... just ask Dirt! best of luck, hope it works out well!

Highly likely that this is just a crack in the clear coat. You can always have the shop you bought it at check it out. Where exactly is this anyway? That'd make a big difference in diagnosing whether it's likely a crack forming, or just something like a paint issue too.

This is at the bottom bracket, where the seat tube and down tube meet. Took it into Freshbikes, confirmed it was a cracked frame; the jaggy angles were the give away the mechanic said. So now I do the warranty wait.

You've had it for 45 days? Is FreshBikes helping you out with a loaner? I'd be irate!
