Low-mileage, high rock content, many attempts: my favorite kinda ride

Spent the weekend hitting fireroads in the Elizabeth Furnace area. What a beautiful few days to unplug and spend some time in the woods.

You might already know this, but if you ventured off those fire roads and onto the singletrack, you'll find some of the most rocky and technically difficult singletrack within a couple of hours of DC. I absolutely love them, but don't get out there often enough. I mean, how can you resist stuff like this?

    1) Didn't bring the correct bike (intentionally, to avoid the temptation, which leads to #2)
    2) Not good enough to survive that with my collarbones intact!

#2 - true dat! These pics aren't recent, but I took them at Elizabeth Furnace on sections that my buddy tried with mixed results. My collarbones threatened to spontaneously explode if I even so much lined up to attempt them
