Default My Last Morning Commute in Virginia Video

Well, it feels good to have a working laptop again! I've got other news to share about my escapades in my new home of Tukwila, Washington, but I will save that for later. The important thing is now I can start going back to finishing some of the projects I was in the middle of when my old laptop died.

I had luckily saved videos on my bike camera from my final morning bike commute in August, so I put together a video of the primary route I would use to get from my apartment near the Mark Center in Alexandria to my office in the Ballston area of Arlington. More to come, but enjoy for now:

Rode in Davis this weekend. A lot of the lower portions of the trails look like this:

Did you make it up moon rocks? My buddy and I tried about 5 times each before he finally made it and I gave up and walked the last part.

Was able to ride way more than I thought I could - around 70%. There were spots where I was like "EFF THIS!" and then other spots where I took what looked to be the easiest line and then got myself into a corner where I'd have to pull a drevil manoeuvre to get out of it so I'd have to put a foot down or get off the bike and walk a few feet.

My new(-ish) bike really likes uphill chunky rocks. It likes downhill rocks too, but I'm not quite as thrilled about that.

I love Davis' Moon Rocks section. Thanks for the pics!

Default Alki Trail in West Seattle

I did some more exploring of Seattle, this time I headed along the entire Alki Trail (about 4.4 miles long) that runs along the coast of West Seattle. It's a nicely kept trail that offers gorgeous views of the Seattle skyline across Elliott Bay and of the surrounding lands/islands across Puget Sound. Alki is the settlement that would grow into Seattle. Also, they have a miniature version of the Statue of Liberty!
