    Default Christmas panic season

Has anyone else started to notice an extra bit of hurriedness and distractedness among drivers since Thanksgiving? I haven't had any close calls since I've predicted the bad driving far enough in advance to stop, but I've been cut off more often (in bike lanes or not) and otherwise seen worse driving in the last week than in the previous couple months.

It seems like everybody's speeding through the neighborhoods a little faster and more carelessly as the holidays approach and seasonal stress disorder starts to set in.

I call it Christmas panic season. It's kind of telling that people ask "Are you ready for Christmas?" rather than "Are you excited about the approaching holidays?"

Folks are in a bigger hurry than ever to try to get all their stuff done, I guess, and that seems to be extending to worse driving than usual. (Also we're getting into the party season, so alcohol is probably part of it.)

So everybody please be a little extra careful (and well lit) out there!

It's raining. It's gray. And the Deadskins were at 1 pm. Makes for bad traffic.

Bluemont (WOD) was all but empty. Had a very nice game of disc golf. The dog wasnt interested; wanted to go on her walk about.

Ironically enough someone complained that my small 110lument light was "too bright" when I rode home in the dark on Friday. I laughed knowing full well most folks here would say it's not bright enough.

And I've noticed some more, but I just figured it timed more with DST. Everytime I cross GWP, I swear folks turning right onto Slaters have no clue that traffic may come from the other direction or they just don't care. I've been flicked off oh a dozen times for going across with the green light.
