I snagged up a lovely Kurt Kinetic trainer for $125 off CL. Hooked up my Garmin last night and played around with it for about 30 minutes, it's cool to see Strava identified it as a "Stationary" ride, but I'm wondering if you can distinguish between it and real rides. I haven't seen anything clearly stated yet, but I imagine this contest should exclude any such rides. Typically, they disallow any "manual" entries, but I'm sure we have some people participating that don't have a device capable of tracking their rides?

Ok, I've signed up. I'm 300685. My November/December baseline milage is down this year because of traveling. That's probably appropriate for the challenge since I expect I'll have to make a couple of trips between January 1 and March 31, and will probably only have access to a stationary bike then. Of course if I do find a bike for some outdoor rides while traveling, it will not be a "freezing" saddle.

I'm in too. Do we need to post our strava links here, or just in the sign up form?

No no. I dont need your numbers here. Just sign up on the form. After the 25th, I will post the teams here.

31 riders so far. To form the teams, I will look at the score a rider is generating based on their averages. So riding 70 miles per week on average (1 point per mile) and riding 5 times a week (10 points per day) generates a score of 120.

The current average score is 127; the current median score is 120. And with this many people signing up, it should be not to hard to form teams of relatively equal average scores.

I've signed up also. I'm 1224809. Hopefully the forecast of a snowier winter won't put too much of a dent in my riding.

I'm in! And bumping this up to encourage some more casual commuters to join in our winter shenanigans and help balance out the teams. This could be a fun way to up your game and liven up the winter season.

Over on the Google+ Bike Commuting Community someone posted this picture of the "first iditabiker" - good motivation for the Freezing Saddles Competitors I think:
