Fortunately, the injuries are not life-threatening. Nor will the cycling career of the Tour de France and Olympic champion be in jeopardy. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Shane Sutton (British Cycling coach) was apparently also involved in a collision today and suffered a head injury. Don't know the extent of it yet. Scary stuff.
