Default Oct 20th 7:00 pm Illuminated Art Ride - DC (Light up your bike)

The caption for this ride says it all, don't just see art, be art.

The Daily Rider presents a celebration of the art of bicycles.

    Light up your bike.

Light up yourself. (Not with fireworks or weapons grade explosives, please.)

Me? I found some new lights online. A kind of rave/neon/Vegas sort of spectacle.

So sad I'm going to be out of town for a wedding that weekend. Would have been the ultimate venue to try out the glow-in-the-dark bubbles.

You seriously need to reevaluate your priorities.

Glow in the dark bubbles ALWAYS trumps weddings and any outing that does not entail bikes.

There are all sorts of bike events. Over time I've figured out the ones that serve adult beverages tend to be more fun (MoCo Epic, Crystal City Diamond Derby) than the ones that serve granola bars and bananas. Less painful too. This should be a very fun event.

And for what it's worth, this is a video clip from last year's party... Oh my...

Dancing in the streets....Drumming in the streets....Staying up past my usual sunset bedtime...This looks fantastic.

I completely wrote this ride off since I thought Oct 20th had already happened. I'll probably make the same mistake tomorrow. Staying up late on weekends isn't for me anymore.

So far, this is my illuminated helmet. It runs on two AA batteries clipped into the strap in the back and taped with transparent packing tape.

    No rhinestones?

Seriously, love it. How did you do it/where did you get it?

LED coil of about nine feet. Bought it on Amazon. Attached with transparent packing tape.
