Oh! Just a bike rack, never mind that old thing!

What should I lock up to? by certifried, on Flickr

Never mind that there are a LOT of other spots open, some much closer to the building entrance...

No spots open... park in bike rack! by certifried, on Flickr

Just park wherever you want, dick.

It's a shame this is a federal installation with cameras all over.

It's also a shame the guards like me, greet me in the morning by name, and know of my efforts to bike to work as much as possible. They're very nice guards... too nice to have the guy towed but they did look up his plate number and call him, told him to move it.

Some others do park in this spot, there's a BE-A-U-tiful Cobra Mustang that parks here occasionally. He parks off to the side and leaves me tons of room to park. I told him once to make sure he doesn't scratch my bike! He shouldn't park there anyways, and hasn't been lately because he knows I'm biking more and more, but this prick in the photos not only took up the entire spot, but backed up so close to the rack too. I seriously almost locked my bike to his car, but figured my bike would get jacked up, and it's my nice one (nicest I have anyway). Also, I thought WWDD, and didn't want to escalate. I almost did pepper spray the door handle, leave him something for later LOL

Had this happen to me at my old garage except a) my bike was turned around (front wheel facing rear bumper of car) and b) they backed into my U-locked bike hard enough to both deflate the tube and irreparably bend my fork. From then on, my bike went up to my office with me. (Except nowadays I have a key-access cage well away from the cars)

If you didn't have to use that rack all the time, you could leave a note on the windshield saying "Sorry about the damage to your car" (Without, of course, doing any damage...but they won't know that)

Depending on where this is, that might not be a legal parking spot and there might be requirements that the spot be painted correctly. Even if its fed, if the fed is just a tenant, the landlord must comply with local requirements.

Or your could just politely ask management to paint the spot as a non parking spot.

You should leave him a note that says "Holy *#%& those are ugly wheels on your station wagon".

The driver is probably the type who b*tches about how high gas prices are and how much traffic sucks, but fails to connect that to the fact that he solo commutes in a 17 foot long car that gets 15 mpg.
