Default Two Wheel Tuesday Class Tomorrow (Tuesday 6/12)

Just wanted to put in a plug that Pete Beers (known around these parts as Dirt) will be the special guest at Two Wheels Tuesday tomorrow evening.

Come pick his brain in person on mapping and routing as well as any other topics that might come up.

Details: Cherry/Dogwood Room, 7:00pm to 8:30pm at the Courthouse Building (2100 Clarendon Blvd, Arlington, VA)

There will be snacks and a nice door prize!

It should be interesting tonight. My brain is particularly full at the moment.

That looks like the kind of sensible passage that VDOT won't permit under the fairfax county parkway!

To be fair, this design wouldn't come close to passing muster with current design standards. I'm of the opinion that a crappy connection is better than none though.

I'd also add that this tunnel has a rather scary and unpleasant history. I'm going to learn more details on Friday.

I love that path (and especially that crappy connection and tunnel - who *doesn't* like riding through water?!).

But just upstream from there, I've encountered one of the ugliest things I've seen on a trail. Some jackhole tied a chain, at thigh level, across a bridge on the path. It's a poorly lit trail, so could have been really bad, had someone hit it. Took me a good 20 minutes to get it undone (half expecting that I'd have to use it on the person that did it in the first place).
