Family ride over the Wilson Bridge to National Harbor

My wife and I biked with our 3 kids from Belle Haven Marina to National Harbor and back to try out the kids on the tandem trailer bike. They had fun, but were pretty tired by the end. We have all summer to work up for our 26 mile ride from Fairfax to the C&O canal. Here's some photos.

What type of tandem trailer cycle is that? The rack attachment looks similar to the Burley Piccolo, which we made great use of with our son.

Looks like a good time was had by all. The weather was beautiful. Here's to many more miles of family riding!

It's an older model Adams tandem Trail-a-Bike that has been modified to attach to a burley rack. I bought it used on Craig's list ( I did none of the modifications, myself -- which is why the kids are still attached). The set up is a little long, and heavy, but coming up the ramp to the overpass, my kids were really cranking, I noticed the help. My wife, had no such help.
