What a difference a year makes

Looking at the sidewalk in front of the 7-11 at 23rd and Eads. A year ago (photo was taken 16 Aug 22) there were two Jersey barriers to keep cars from using the sidewalk to get to the road.



The Jersey barriers were replaced with steel pipes along the curb line. They started with four (no pic), then they had three, then two. It seems that motorists are unable to avoid a stationary object painted yellow.


Well, it seems that Arlington has admitted defeat. The four posts have been replaced with, wait for it .... Jersey barriers.

It will be interesting to see how they hold up. I'd expect we will start seeing dings and tire scrapes as motorists discover they don't drive as well as they think.
