Default Green Fondo Virginia - Blue Ridge, April 28-30 - pedal for the planet!

Hey bike-loving friends! We’re back with a ride close to D.C.!

Registration is now open for Climate Ride's newest addition to our Green Fondo series — Green Fondo Virginia! The event runs April 28-30, 2023 through the Shenandoah Valley, with a bustling cycling village set up at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center in Front Royal, VA. Climate Ride will offer a shuttle to/from DC for participants living in the area.

This Gran Fondo-styled event has something for everyone and provides an atmosphere where family, friends, and colleagues can all enjoy a cycling event together. Green Fondo is not timed because we want you to enjoy the bike ride the way you want to ride!

This event will have you riding through wine country in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah National Park, and the Shenandoah River Valley. It's meant to be a rolling party with something for everyone, and you can choose either the Gran, Medio, or Piccolo route options each day – no one is left behind with full SAG support out on the road! There are lovely stops with tasty food and drinks along the way, where you can enjoy beautiful surroundings whilst challenging yourself. From e-bikes to race bikes, all are welcome!

Cyclists can overnight, enjoy food, drink and entertainment, and meet with new friends and thought leaders. The camp is right on the Appalachian Trail, so even non-cyclists can join the cause, hit the trails, and be a part of all the action in camp. If you want to start a team of friends, family, or co-workers, we're here to help. It's a meaningful way to unite for change while enjoying the positive rewards of exercise and adventure!

For this event, participants must fundraise a minimum of $495 ($200 for participants under the age of 25) for nonprofits working hard for bike advocacy, clean energy, and climate change solutions. Participants pick the benefiting organizations, and Climate Ride staff will help you achieve your fundraising goals. PLUS, 100% of all funds raised will be donated directly to your chosen organizations!

If you know a nonprofit doing important work in the D.C. area (or elsewhere!), and you’d like to see them on our list of beneficiary partners, let us know! Or, check out the 100+ groups already on our list:

Join the cycling party that engages an energized community and benefits the sustainability revolution!
