Default Thursday Fit’niss Ride (12 January)

7 PM, 12 January, Town Center Market

Fitness ride? No, it’s a fit’niss ride—gonna be fittin’ ‘iss here torta into my mouth.

Leaving TCM at 7ish, so get there early if you want to fill your growler or glass. Slowish roll north up the Trolley Trail to Taquiria Habanero, since I’ve been needing birria. After that? I dunno. Maybe Streetcar 82 or Denizens? Or something else entirely?

Leave the race wheels behind. Along with the spare food. Neither will be needed.

(And for the non-Murrlinders: TCM is located at the intersection of the Trolley Trail and Queensbury Road. That’s 4705 Queensbury if you have to tell your GPS)

Over 200 cyclists turned out for the annual MLK ride led by Getting It In & District Cycling Collective clubs that included stops at the MLK & Lincoln memorials, library, National Museum of African American History and Parade in Anacostia.

Sunday, 02/05/2023 (11 AM) #PublicArtFinder Fun ride goes to Reston VA

Come and explore while on 2 wheels some of Reston’s 80+ permanent and temporary public artworks and score some #publicartfinder points!

Start/End/Mid-point: Starbucks at Wiehle Ave - Reston East Metro station.

This fun ride is a joint venture between perennial, prolific and Reston-resident PublicArtFinder @karenbikes2 and the pointless prize sponsor @Boomer2U. Participation is open to all who can ride a bike and at your own risk so please wear a helmet, use bike lights and obey all road rules/trail etiquette.

The route consists of two loops that intersect at the Wiehle Ave - Reston East Metro stop for those who want to leave early or join later, though we cannot guarantee when we will be where once the ride begins, FYI.

*** Winter Bike to Work Day ***
    Friday, Feb 10th, 7-9AM

It's cold outside but that doesn't mean you have to give up riding your bike. In fact, we want to encourage you to warm up to cold-weather biking on International Winter Bike to Work Day.

This year we [Bike Arlington] will have two morning pit stops--one at Gravelly Point on the Mount Vernon Trail and one on the Custis Trail in Rosslyn. No matter where you're going (whether to work, school, errands, or a casual ride), stop by to say hello and grab some BikeArlington and Capital Bikeshare swag. We'll also have free hot drinks and breakfast sandwiches from McDonald's. First come, first served!
