Thank you Steve and everyone -- I'm actually doing a lot better today. My son is checking the bike out right now. I think it's fine too (I was kinda hoping for a new bike ...) . Steve, I'm not on Strava except during FS so I'll be signing off it tonight. I'm very involved with bike safety in VA, but that doesn't help me much down here in El Paso. But thanks. Getting the 3/19/2023 Wild Card - action, emotion, and engagement (with bicycles) shot I wanted tonight was difficult, but I’m pretty happy with this.

On my ride you can see where the glass (which was A LOT and it’s hard to see how much of the “protected bike lane” it covers. It’s been there for WEEKS!) ended up. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was responsible for one of my flats. But the satisfying CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCHITY CHRUNCH of cars rolling over it was well worth the time and trouble.

I also took pics of Congress with a lone office lit by TVs. Who was it since they’re out of session? Do they live there? Were they working?

Almost got a pic of someone PARKED in a PROTECTED bike lane after circling the block. I guess my yelling worked. Last seen they were blocking cars instead.

Should have stayed at Hains even later. I see some showed up! It was cold even earlier. 30 min. 36 average according to the 1030.

Here’s a better photo of the Cooking Pot location. I guess it doesn’t matter which day since we have the whole week. Hopefully, going out of the app for awhile works. Attachments are so awful.


Pango Pango

The second photo is Ben’s Chili Bowl on Ben’s Chili Bowl Way (U St. where I almost was right hooked by a high speed chase, squealing wheels and all - I was shaking for quite awhile after that). There’s no way the chili could be so famous unless it was actually being served from Pango Pango’s mysterious Cooking Pot that takes many ingredients and turns them into something fantastic.

“Pango Pango is one of the gods of Mystery Island, who blesses users with special items for giving him the proper gifts at the Cooking Pot. It is implied that Jhuidah's magic is also required for the Cooking Pot to function correctly, as when she went missing in the Mystery Island Volcano plot, users were required to use a recipe that doesn't usually work.”
