Hey! I did that once, too, but I did not crash. https://www.strava.com/activities/1109867263

2/2/2023 Ground Hog Day
Ground hogs can excavate a complex, multi-chambered burrow system of tunnels measuring up to 65 -100 feet. When groundhogs burrow, they use their powerful short front legs and claws to loosen soil and rocks. They then move the soil with their mouths to the surface.
If ground hogs could ride bikes, they would probably have more fun and look forward to 6 more weeks of winter.

2/2/2024 Groundhog Day
Along side the W&OD is Reston Phil’s home. Yep, saw his shadow and returned to the den for 6 more weeks of Freezing Saddles.

It was furry, it came out of a hole in the ground, and scurried back in, so I’m calling it a groundhog and another 6 weeks of winter
riding!

Deja vu all over again. Lived on St Christopher in MO as a kid. It was snowing at dawn in Richmond so no shadows seen here.

2/2/23 Groundhog Day

I once ran over a ground hog on the W&OD and was absolutely amazed that I didn't go down! And the groundhog scampered away so evidently wasn't hurt too badly.

In spite of all the balloons, this pig clearly can't get its back feet up in the air; you can see that they are still right in line with the footprints. So it's doomed forever to be a ground hog.

In Arlington, there are many McMansions, and they take up nearly the entire lot, and virtually no front, side, or back yard. These houses hog the ground, hence, they are groundhogs.
