Housekeeping items for everybody:

1. Please confirm receipt of my email sent tonight and "reply all" with your Strava and Bike Forum handles. I will update all of our various handles here on our team's thread as you send me your info.

2. Request to follow me, Boomer Cycles, on Strava so that I can invite you to join our Strava Club "BAFS2022Crazy8sRgr8" which I created as "invite-only" so that we do not get volunteer recruits. However, I can only invite you to join our club IF you accept my invitation to follow YOU back on Strava. You can also find the Club on Strava and request to join, which I will approve.

3. Go ride your bike! Everyday!! Even if it is just a few miles. Remember, that first mile will net you 20 points (10 for the first mile + 10 for daily participation). Mile 2 is worth 9 points and so down the line until you hit mile 10+ where each mile is worth 1 point. It is practically impossible to ride your way out of deficit from missing days. The everyday rider prevails under the BAFS scoring system.

End of Week 2 report: we are 15/19 in the BAFS Team standings.

9 out of 10 of us are now on the BAFS2022 Team Leaderboard:



So far, we have 4 everyday riders (16 days) and 3 other riders with 15, 14 & 13 day streaks, respectively. Great work and keep your streak alive!

I see that Chris did his first snow ride today, so hopefully his 6 days of rides will now turn into a streak.

Reilley has been riding his Peloton pretty regularly which unfortunately doesn’t count for freezing saddles. Remember, only outdoor rides count.

I see that Tina is posting outdoor rides on Strava, but has not yet joined our Strava Club, so her rides are not yet reflected on our BAFS Team leaderboard.

Please welcome @BikeDavid (aka David Jiang) as our newest team member, replacing Reilley Keane who withdrew from BAFS2022 due to a change in his personal circumstances.

@BikeDavid is a veteran of past BAFS seasons, and a contender on various pointless prize leaderboards, including Kris’s #plates (where he already found the elusive tags from Hawaii and Alaska), #fsbooks Little Free Libraries and my very own #publicartfinder competition.

Now if we can only get David to prioritize biking over his running and swimming in his triathlon training program, we should be able to leap frog up the BAFS2022 Team leaderboard as soon as he clicks on the “join” link to our Strava Club!!!

With David Jiang and Tina joining our Strava Club today, we have leap-frogged from next-to-last to 4th place on the BAFS2022 Team leaderboard!:-0 The importance of riding your bike everyday cannot be overstated. Even if only for a few miles. It matters. Game on!!!

*Update: End of Week #4*

We are holding steady at 4th place overall, go team ! , and a mere 60 points behind the 3rd place team #12 —the difference of less than one BAFS decasleaze ride . However, the 5th place team #7 is nipping at our heals and only 130 points behind us — the difference of 2 decasleaze rides. So please keep getting out there everyday and giving it whatever you got. It matters!
