Anacostia River. According to the Anacostia Watershed Society, "The word Anacostia is derived from the Nacotchtank Indian word anaquash. Literally translated into English the word means village trading center."

FYI. There is also a New Albany, OH! It appears as though you are in the IN one, though. I drove through Louisville once, but don't recall seeing any signs for New Albany.

I tried to get one of the locks on the C & O Canal, but after bicycling on a muddy and icy towpath for 2 miles to get there, I wasn't able to follow the canal into Georgetown to find them. So this view from a bridge will have to do.

Opps! Bad click. I did not mean to dislike this post. (It would be nice to have an "UNdisklike" button.)

1/24/2022 - Bridge
So many iconic ones to choose from. I selected Bow Bridge over The Lake in Central Park for today's entry.
