3-15 Mid-Century Modern
Another busy photo day as you can throw a stone a find these house around Denver & Littleton. Multiple entire neighborhoods in this style. Hard to choose among the dozens of homes I saw, so I decided to go with this commercial building in old Littleton. Same architect that also does the Brutalist buildings around here. He built this one for his personal offices. The glass, colors, and roofline still stand out.

3/15/22 Mid-century Modern--this photo doesn't do the house justice. Very private from the front. The garage was added when my friends renovated this gem on N Harrison St across from Williamsburg Middle School, Arlington. The interior and glass on the back of the home are definitely MCM architecture.

3/15/2022 - Mid-century modern

Large windows and interior design based on functionality characterize Mid-century modern architecture. Unfortunately, we can't see the interior of this house. However, I believe it's functional.

3/15/22 Mid-century Modern

Brookland’s Church of the Redeemer Presbyterian was designed by Robert Madison, the first licensed Black architect in Ohio who moved to DC to teach at Howard University. He designed a number of buildings in the area, which I learned about in this Washingtonian article, "Stop Tearing Down Midcentury-Modern Houses!" https://www.washingtonian.com/2021/1...modern-houses/
I can't wait to ride the neighborhood and see them better in daylight!

This house is one of many mid-century modern homes in the Hollin Area of Fairfax County. Hollin Hills is on the the National Register of Historic Places.
Yeah I saw some great ones there on Sunday & took pix.... But it was brutalist day. I was tempted to post one here today anyhow and forego the participation point (cuz wrong day) just cuz they're so clearly mid-century modern
