Covid-19 Sanatarium: Group Bike Rides
Interesting article about Commuters fleeing mass transit in the Big Apple and opting for bikes instead... https://grist.org/climate/coronaviru...new-york-city/

I like that one, Boomer. Much better than this, which is sobering. So far I feel like we've been underreacting by a few weeks at least. However I think bicycling is good & hope this doesn't happen here:

So much for logic.

Don't put on your full team kit and then try to convince the carabinieri that you're only popping out for a liter of milk...

We are protecting the vulnerable by staying completely isolated from everyone except the closed circle of those we live with unless absolutely necessary - the important part being that our circle is closed (we're only hanging out with each other) and small. With all we're hearing from Europe, I would hope that any group rides would be postponed.

I intend to go down to Hains Point and ride around on Thursday night. If I am all by myself, then that seems like a pretty safe place to be.
IMO, if you are feeling healthy and have had no known contact with anyone who has COVID-19, the FSLNHPP is an extremely low risk place to be. We'll all be wearing gear, including bike gloves, there's a wind that will blow away any coughs (if you need to cough, move away from others and cough downwind) and--other than the restrooms--no surfaces that might have the virus on them.
I feel pretty comfortable with that. If you do not, don't come.
If you want to kiss me, though, that will require special consideration and permission will only be granted to select individuals.
