On 2/8 I celebrated National Iowa Day by wearing my Iowa beer tent shirt and riding to Iowa Avenue. On 2/13 I celebrated National Cheddar Day by eating macaroni and cheese after a windy bike ride.

To celebrate no one eats alone day on Feb 14, I rode to Northside Social, one of the winter bike to work day pitstops, and pleasantly ran into a convoy of others on the forum doing the same. We all got a free scone and none of us ate alone!

Feb 14 I rode to National Harbor after work to celebrate National Ferris Wheel Day. The cold winds did not deter all the people from the cosplay convention from getting their photo ops either. They were not dressed as warmly as I was.

After helping the Disaster/Lumberjacks move today, I was in the mood for some gumdrops. I had seen many a pintrest showings of lovely ornate gumdrop trees and I thought I'd give it a shot. So I stopped by Harris Teeter on my way home and moseyed on down the candy isle. WTF HT? No gumdrops? Seriously, the most pedestrian of candy options and you don't have it. I CAN NOT WAIT until the Whole Foods is built... you suck.
So I trotted on over to the reliable CVS and picked some up. No problem-o, even though I'm guessing your off-brand can't call them gumdrops. Whatev.
Super excited to get home and make my very first gumdrop tree...
I think I nailed it.

Feb 16 I picked up some almond croissants from Lee's Sandwiches to celebrate National Almond Day.

In celebration of National Almond Day I got some kind of almond treat at Fresh Baguette in Georgetown. They looked like cookies but were more like a mini cake. Tres bon!

I celebrated "Do A Grouch a Favor Day" by visiting the Muppets at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York. True to his cantankerous nature, Oscar did not make an appearance.

Feb 17 is President's Day this year so we stopped at the President Gerald R. Ford Park to commemorate the day.
